In the early ’90’s Stretch and Bobbito started co-hosting the premier underground hip-hop radio show in New York City on WKCR. Their passion and investment into the music and culture allowed them to introduce future rap icons like The Fugees, Nas, Big Pun, Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, Busta Rhymes and the Wu-Tang Clan via demo tapes and in studio performances. This past summer they re-released some of their rare and highly coveted cassettes from the show on Fatbeats to raise money for their documentary, Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives. Some of the tapes were sold as part of their Kickstarter campaign for the film in addition to other perks and they quickly met their goal. The film is making its debut Thursday on Vimeo for the cost of $13.99 and you can also pre-order it now and be one of the first to see the story of what has been called the most important hip-hop radio show ever.
