Online hip-hop boutique, Get On Down, has released a Jean-Michel Basquiat Beat Bop Record Box. The record holder is named after Basquiat’s 1983 “Beat Bop” rap single with Rammellzee and K-Rob. The box can hold 50 pieces of vinyl and there are only 1,000 of the boxes being offered alone or as bundle with a picture sleeved copy of “Beat Bop.” Get On Down’s brand name has grown because of its deluxe hip-hop reissues that have already included Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx “Purple Tape Cassette Box” (2012) and the GZA’s Liquid Swords 4-LP “Chess Box” (2013). The Jean-Michel Beat Bop record boxes are approved by his estate, but will only be made and sold once. The boxes are on sale now at the Get On Down site.
