“My Favorite Girl” is from Dave Hollister’s solo debut album Ghetto Hymns. Hollister, Marc Kinchen, Steven Jordan and T. “Sonnyboy” Turpin co-wrote the song and it along with the singles “Can’t Stay” and “Baby Mama Drama” helped the album go Gold. The album title reflected a theme about the struggles of love in the inner city. Erik Sermon co-produced Ghetto Hymns with Hollister and there are appearances from Redman, Jazze Pha, Twinkie Clark and Stevie J. Ghetto Hymns arrived after Hollister’s impressive stint with Teddy Riley’s Blackstreet. Dave Hollister’s eighth solo album, Chicago Winds…The Saga Continues was released in 2014.
