Saul Williams’s “Coltan As Cotton” is a poem on the dismantling of corruption around the coltan mineral that’s used in all kinds of electronics. Williams’s focus is again on another conflict in Africa, previously it was “Burundi,” but this time it’s the Congo where coltan is mined and used by outsiders who become wealthy from it while the locals live in poverty. “Coltan As Cotton” is from his forthcoming Martyr Loser King album.
