Vernell “Vee” Sales and Falonte “Fonz” Moore became Koffee Brown in the late ’90’s after being put together by Kay Gee of Naughty By Nature and RL of the R&B group Next. Sales had previously worked in the industry as a back-up singer for Mary J.Blige, Faith Evans, Next and Case. Together they appeared on albums from Naughty By Nature and Next before having their own album as artists released in 2001. Mars/Venus was a bright summery album with “After Party” leading them into Top Ten status on the R&B charts. Moore and Sales went their separate ways soon after the success of Mars/Venus leaving an eternal party record behind to be enjoyed by successive generations.
