Fishbone

Punk funk pioneers Fishbone are raising money to defend themselves against a re-opened lawsuit that was won against them last year. Kimberly Myers attended a 2010 show and lost consciousness after lead singer Angelo Moore crowd-dived and landed on her. Myers suffered a broken skull, collarbone and claims to have lupus from her injuries. She won a $1.4 million dollar judgement and Moore was ordered to pay an additional $250,000 in punitive damages. Moore has been crowd-diving since the ’80’s and the band has has one other lawsuit because of the practice. The judge felt that Moore, who said that “People want to be on edge when they go to a Fishbone show” had no signs of remorse after the incident. As any Fishbone fan knows, the band never made it big or got rich so it’s not surprising they are having a fundraiser to pay for another attorney.
