(Detroit, MI) James Joseph Brown was an American recording artist and musician. One of the founding fathers of funk music and a major figure of 20th-century popular music and dance, who’s often referred to as “The Godfather of Soul.”
I FEEL GOOD- The James Brown Story VOL I , is James Brown as seen through the eyes of long time backup singer and friend, Ms. Martha High and is written and directed by Drumline’s Donald P. Roberts and featuring R & B legend and multi-Grammy nominated, Johnny Gill as the enigmatic Brown, live on stage with a spectacular multi-media presentation, this lavish production will hit the stage beginning on May 8th, 2015 with a preview on May 7th.

I FEEL GOOD- The James Brown Story VOL I will tell the Godfather Of Soul’s tumultuous life from his strained and problematic relationship with his mother and of his humble and troubled beginnings to his rise as an International superstar. Music will help tell James Brown’s story, which also mirrors the Civil rights movement but never strays too far from Brown’s need to reconcile his difficult and emotional relationship with his mother, Susie Brown, played with emotional intensity by the supremely talented Detroit singer, songwriter and actress, Maurissa Rose who through the power of her voice and stage presence provides a sure show-stopping performance.
