Naturally 7 released their Hidden Beach debut album, Hidden In Plain Sight: Vox Maximus Vol. 1 today. The New York City all-male acapella septet were Youtube viral sensations in 2006 when their performance of Phil Collin’s “In The Air Tonight” on a Parisian subway was seen by millions of viewers. Hidden In Plain Sight: Vox Maximus Vol. 1 is their seventh studio album and it is their usual blend of R&B, beatboxing and pop references. Their cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” is one of the album’s highlights as well as a flip of Wham’s “Everything She Wants” into “Life Goes On.” The group’s singing style, which they call Vocal Play, is a reminder of singers like Take 6, Bobby McFerrin and even Sweet Honey In The Rock with the sensibility of hip-hop and pop. Check out the stream of the entire album.
