The Roots released their Do You Want More album in ’94 and have filmed a documentary to commemorate the event. They were the next progression after Stetsasonic who played with a live band in the ’80’s and they outlived Jasper And The Prodigal Suns who were around in the ’90’s. Since that time they have become a brand name thanks to years of singular albums and becoming Jimmy Fallon’s house band. They’ve become one of hip-hop’s longest lasting bands after Public Enemy and the only one to be an actual band. This a scene from the forthcoming documentary where they discuss their early days in Philadelphia.
