Nolan Thomas was a Latin Freestyle artist who had a moment of classic ’80’s catchy but cheesy pop with the single “‘Yo Little Brother.” The song was an innocuous counterpoint to Nancy Reagan’s Just Say No anti-drug campaign and a reiteration of the pro light-skin pop formula. Thomas was a dark-haired Latino who has his hair dyed blond and the vocals punched in from African-American studio singer Elan Lanier. The Sleppin & Teeman-directed video was popular for the colorful cardboard set and the Vid Kids who were mini versions of ’80’s pop icons like Cyndi Lauper and Prince.
