William Bell remade his “I Forgot To Be Your Lover” a couple of years ago with Snoop Dogg. The song is on the soundtrack to the Take Me To The River documentary directed by Martin Shore. The film looks at the influence of Memphis on music across the generations. It also explores the racial struggles of the times and how the music was an expression of those conflicts and transcended them. The soundtrack to the film will be released on Stax September 9th.
