Cleveland by way of the Cameroon indie R&B singer Lorine Chia warns listeners to not eat from the tree of whiteness unless you are ready for the arrival of winter. Chia’s take on the biblical story of Genesis involves a contrast of candles representing African Diasporic religion and the aftermath of an unsuccessful one-night stand with a young white Jesus-looking figure.
