This is the first footage from the Marvin Gaye biopic Sexual Healing. Jesse L. Martin portrays Gaye’s life in the ’80’s when he was making his Midnight Love album that gave him a huge comeback thanks to the song “Sexual Healing.” Gaye was living in Belgium coping with American tax issues, depression and a drug habit. Julien Temple is the film’s director and S.Epatha Merkerson plays Marvin’s mother and Dwight Henry is cast as the senior Gaye. It is scheduled for a home video release on April 1st which is the 30th anniversary of Gaye’s death.
