Hip-Hop For Respect is a project spearheaded by Mos Def and Talib Kweli to acknowledge the shooting of immigrant Amadou Diallo by the NYPD. Diallo was fatally shot by The NYPD in ’99 when he went to grab for his wallet. The EP has a total of 41 emcees to represent each shot taken by Diallo. Rah Digga, Invincible, Posdnous, Dead Prez, Common, Kool G Rap, Channel Live, Rass Kass, Nonchalant, Pharoahe Monch, John Forte, Imani Izuri, J-Live and Aesop Rock were some of the rappers who participated. Organized Noise, DJ Khalil and 88-Keys produced the project. “One Four Love (Part 1)” was the only single released and it graced three different charts.
