Murs, Ego Trip co-founder Sacha Jenkins and Daryl Jenifer of Bad Brains have joined forces in the punk-hop project called The White Mandingos. “The Ghetto Is Tryna Kill Me” is the first single from their forthcoming album of the same name. Murs is lead singer Tyrone White from a Harlem housing project and he is struggling with issues of identity as a Black rocker in a world where the artform has been co-opted by whites.
