James Locke, Mike Peden and Pauline Henry were a trio from Scotland who made a quick entry into UK R&B of the ’90’s as The Chimes. Their self-named debut album for CBS from 1990 received the most commercial notice for their cover of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.” “Heaven” was appreciated by the some of the less stringent house music fans but Jazzie B’s production of “1-2-3” made them a footnote in the Soul II Soul movement.
