Inner Life was the brainchild of dance music luminary Patrick Adams who produced and arranged the studio band. Jocelyn Brown and Leroy Burgess were the featured vocalists in the short-lived project. “I’m Caught Up (In a One Night Love Affair)” was their 1979 dancefloor breakthrough from the first of three albums. “Make It Last Forever” is from their second album noted for Larry Levan’s extravagant remix of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Inner Life II was the third album in their trilogy and “Moments Of My Life” was another big centerpiece in the club. The group disbanded after this 1981 release but Brown continues to work and 2010’s True Praise is her latest studio album.
