Queens, NY natives Prince Po and Pharoahe Monch rapped together under the name Simply II Positive MCs before they became Organized Konfusion. Late East Coast producer Paul C, who was a mentor to The Large Professor, produced their demo and they released the single “Memories of Love” in 1987. Their self-named debut album was released in 1991 and received critical acclaim because of the inspired lyricism. O.C. appeared on the single “Fudge Pudge” and “Walk Into The Sun” made it onto the Hot Rap Singles chart. “Stress” was the lead single from their sophomore album, Stress: The Extinction Agenda. Q-Tip and O.C. had guest spots on “Let’s Organize” and producers Buckwild and Rockwilder worked on the project that is also considered to be one of the best underground albums of the ’90’s. The Equinox is their third album and it was shaped around the concept of Prince Po and Pharoahe Monch rapping as unborn twins in the womb. Organized Konfusion disbanded after The Equinox and Monch reappeared in 1999 with the highly respected Internal Affairs. “Simon Says” charted in the Hot Singles category but the album had to be re-released without the song because of a lawsuit over a Godzilla sample. Prince Po released his solo album The Slickness in 2004 with guest appearances from M.O.P., Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli, Common, Redman, Method Man, Lady Luck, Canibus, Apani and Shabaam Sahdeeq. Po has released a total of three solo albums and Monch also has three solo projects to his credit with the 2011’s W.A.R. being the most recent. There was talk of an Organized Konfusion reunion in the past but was nixed because of problems between Prince Po and O.C.
