Sharon Brown is a singer from Harlem who sang back-up vocals on Aretha Franklin’s 1979 album La Diva. She wrote and sang “The Family Tree” that was an underground club hit in 1981. “I Specialize In Love” was released in 1982 and it is a timeless dance track that put Brown on the Billboard charts for three weeks. Expose covered the song in ’92 on their self-titled album. Brown still lives in New York City and she released the single “Give Love A Chance” in 2008.

“I Specialize In Love” is one of the all time best dance records. It sounds as good as it did when it was on WBLS!
