Kool and Together were an obscure funk/rock band of brothers from Victoria, Texas. The siblings Charles, Tyrone and Joe Sanders became Kool and Together in 1970 after splintering the My Children + 2 band they shared with their father. They had a local career until the end of the ’70’s and recorded a bunch of singles on their own Magic Records label. “Sittin’ On A Red Hot Stove” was recorded in 1973 and rediscovered years later by rare record soul fans. In 2011 Light In The Attic Records compiled all of their singles into the full length album Original Recordings 1970-1977. The band got back together to celebrate the release and performed in Texas and New York City shortly after the project came out.
