Darryl Pandy who sang Farley Jackmaster Funk’s “Love Can’t Turn Around” has passed. The Chicago native became a focal point of house music around the world in 1986 when “Love Can’t Turn Around” dominated the UK dance scene. It wasn’t Pandy’s first time working with Farley because they had recorded “Give Yourself To Me” earlier that year. Their collaboration was a defining moment of Chicago house that launched itself inside clubs like The Warehouse and The Music Box. The song experienced a second life in 1997 when it was re-released in the UK and made the Top 40 chart. Pandy now joins other Chicago house legends like Ron Hardy and Armando Gallop at the house music party in the sky.
