Heaven and Earth were a quartet from Chicago that originally went by the name The Soul Majestics. Dwight Dukes and James Dukes were brothers who formed the group with friends Keith Steward and Michael Brown while they all attended South Shore High School. They recorded three albums and by the time their second project got started Michael Brown left the group and was replaced by Dean Williams. “Guess Who’s Back In Town” comes from their self-titled 2nd album from 1978. Despite their impeccable harmonies and quality output personnel problems and lackluster business associations derailed their career. “Now That I’ve Got You I’ll Be Flying High,” “That’s Love,” “I Really Love You” and “I Can’t Seem To Forget You” are all vintage treats for serious soul crate diggers. In 1982 Dwight Dukes put together the trio Cashmere with McKinley Horton and Daryl Burgee. Cashmere had success on the dancefloors with “Do It Anyway You Wanna” “Inner Feelings,” “Let The Music Turn You On” and “We Need Love” in the ’80’s.
