Rowland, who received her first national television exposure on Soul Train as a member of the multi-platinum recording group Destiny’s Child, appeared on The Today Show on Monday, August 30 along with Reuters Worldwide Newswire.

Soul Train is the longest first run television series in syndication history (on air from 1970 – 2006) and widely recognized as a national launch pad for one-of-a-kind superstar performances, outrageous fashions, hip dances and the iconic Soul Train Dance Line. First set in Chicago, it launched on WCIU-TV with local radio and television personality Don Cornelius on August 17, 1970. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Soul Train skyrocketed nationally, offering a window into African American music and culture.
