“Jazz has always been a mainstay of entertainment among mature adults,” expresses Kevin Rouse. “I’ve been booking jazz acts at various venues in California now for over two decades. This location at The Cellar in Long Beach is a culmination of my experience over the years. We have captured the nuance and the ambiance of an era long gone. When you walk into the room, the setting is chill mode, and from there, it just gets better and better.”
Adds Lennell Jones, “Big City Jazz is about to become synonymous with a great time on a Friday night. We have it all under one roof. You start the evening off grooving and end up getting your party on. And the talent we are booking is simply phenomenal. Yet the evening remains affordable.”
“As a veteran jazz man,” cites Lesure, “it’s a blessing to have a weekly room where I can invite my peers for the ultimate jam session, with an audience who fuels our inspiration. Big City Jazz is alive and kicking!”
