Skee-Lo is a Los Angeles via Chicago resident who hit paydirt with “I Wish” in 1995 when he was a high school senior. He also had the song “Top Of The Stairs” that year on the Money Train soundtrack but it was the jazzy flavored “I Wish” and its subsequent video that made him popular. He received two Grammy nominations for the song and became a VJ for MTV the next year. After some television appearances on the shows Dangerous Minds, Goode Behavior and Baywatch Nights he started his Skee-Lo music label and released his first solo project in 13 years with 2009’s Overdose EP.
