(ATLANTA) May 6, 2008 — 314 meets 313 when St Louis native and Cross Movement Records recording artist FLAME travels to Detroit this Friday to perform songs from his fourth album and chart topping Billboard release OUR WORLD REDEEMED. This Friday at the Detroit International Institute at 8p, FLAME will team to support Friendship Productions in their efforts to donate portions of the concerts proceeds to That Congo Thing. The concert will also feature Stellar Award winning 21:03 who are set to release their second album with their increasingly radio airplaying hit “You!” under the Zomba/SONYBMG imprint.

That Congo Thing (myspace.com/thatcongothing) is an organization dedicated to helping rescue young African girls off the streets. Due to a civil war in Congo, Africa, many young girls were forced to flee their homes and cities leaving them unschooled and untrained. Severe poverty and 80% unemployment have forced hundreds of these girls into prostitution trying to earn money to feed their families. That Congo Thing raises money to support a school in Pointe-Noire, Congo where the students are trained to learn the trade of clothes and jewelry.

OUR WORLD REDEEMED is the sequel and second installment in FLAME’s OUR WORLD Series. The two-part album series captures the story of FLAME befriending a non-believer and pointing him to the cross of Christ, while examining the fallen condition of the world. OUR WORLD FALLEN, which released April 17, 2007, to rave reviews also topped Billboard’s Chart by peaking at #7 on the Top Gospel Charts.

Born in the inner city streets of St. Louis, FLAME accepted Christ at the age of 16. Heavily influenced by the hip-hop culture, he was particularly drawn to the work of The Cross Movement, who later signed the young rapper to their own label and has been ministering the Gospel for now over 10 years through music and speaking engagements. One of the youngest members of the Cross Movement Records artist roster, the Dove Award nominee and 2008 Holy Hip Hop Award honoree is currently studying Biblical Counseling at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Boyce College in Louisville, KY.
