Cece Peniston became an instant dance music star when her single “Finally” came out in 1991. The song flooded the clubs and airwaves leading the way for Finally, the album, to be released the following year. The album spawned five hits including “Finally,” “We Got A Love Thang,” “Inside That I Cried,” “Keep On Walkin'” and “Crazy Love.” “I’m Not Over You” is from her sophomore album, Thought Ya Knew, and it was co-written by Steve Hurley and Jamie Principle. Her second effort didn’t reach the heights of her debut but she was named Billboard’s No.1 Hot Dance Music/Club Play Artist. Peniston wouldn’t have another club hit until ’98’s “Nobody Else” which was received well by the public but did not enter the music charts. “He Loves Me 2” followed in ’99 and both songs were written with Steve Hurley and released under his Silk Entertainment label.
