James Marshall Hendrix died in London. We remember him because:

He is the best guitarist that ever lived.

He couldn’t read music but wrote songs that people still can play or accurately transcribe those who come close still don’t have his magic.

Miles Davis who never attended funerals went to Jimi’s. Their attempt at a collaboration failed because of Jimi’s death.

Turned the blues into rock and roll before your eyes listen to “Hey Joe.”

He was ahead of his time and helped define the time period he lived in.

Played with King Curtis, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, Ike and Tina Turner, The Isley Brothers, and Little Richard.
