VH1’s “The Score” Announces Its Three Finalists

NEW YORK, August 27, 2007 – Up and coming music producers from across the nation submitted their best beats to hiphop.VH1.com and now it’s time to determine who will be the “The Score’s” top producer of 2007. Beginning today, users will determine through online voting who has what it takes to create and produce this year’s official score to “VH1 Hip Hop Honors.”

Through September 9, hip hop fans can log on to hiphop.VH1.com to vote for their favorite track.

“The Score’s” three finalists are:

* DJ Satisfaction from Camden , New Jersey
* Redgee from St. Louis, Missouri
* Trackslammers from West Bloomfield, Michigan

The winner will receive “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” show credit, the opportunity to be mentored by Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson from The Roots during a session where the winning score will be professionally produced and a trip to NYC to attend the taping of the fourth annual “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” celebration in New York in October.

About “The Score” and “VH1 Hip Hop Honors”

VH1’s “The Score” challenges amateur music producers from across the country to demonstrate their best beats for the opportunity to make hip hop history. Participants submitted tracks of their 60-seconds-beats for consideration at hiphop.VH1.com and user votes will determine who will be crowned the beat champ.

VH1 will once again honor the hip hop pioneers and legends that have made significant contributions to all aspects of pop culture with the fourth annual “VH1 Hip Hop Honors.” Hosted by Tracy Morgan, this year’s honorees include A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop Dogg, WHODINI, Missy Elliott, the movie Wild Style and Teddy Riley and Andre Harrell for New Jack Swing.

The music and influence of each of the honorees will be recognized through performances by classic artists in collaboration with today’s hottest new talent. All the honorees are set to take the stage and showcase their legendary talent, along with Ciara, Eve, Pharrell Williams, The Game, T.I., Timbaland, Bow Wow, Busta Rhymes, Common, T-Pain, Keyshia Cole and Nick Cannon as well as an appearance by Chris Rock.

“VH1 Hip Hop Honors” will be taped at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on October 4. Additional performances and appearances will be announced shortly.
