Waajeed: Through It All EP Stream

Waajeed’s Through It All EP is a deep house oasis made for club nights that really start early in the morning. The three-song collection is available on vinyl and digitally through his Bandcamp page. Hopefully, Through It All will receive a video for one of its songs like deft visual treatment given to Waajeed’s “Shango” single.

Waajeed Prepares To Release Through It All EP

Waajeed just released his Shango EP a couple of months ago and the mesmerizing video for the title track.  He has already followed Shango with the Through It All EP coming out  October 5th. In the promo video for the EP he and the artist who did the artwork for both EPs talk about the idea behind the project. Waajeed also talks about his father’s advice and how it has influenced his career and the pivotal moment when he was in Europe with Slum Village and realized his calling. Through It All is available for pre-order now.

Waajeed Releases Official Video For Shango

Waajeed pays tribute to African orisha “Shango” with an Afrofuturist video. A  dancer is filmed around Detroit’s brittle landscape making ritual moves and Waajeed is seen working in his studio with Shango’s red and white candles by his side. It ends with both men dancing around the studio in a red light. Listen to and buy the Shango EP here.

Waajeed Releases Shango EP

Waajeed’s three-song Shango EP is a techno and deep house excursion made for late-night dancing. The Detroit producer who is one-half of the Platinum Pied Pipers explains in the video below how the project is inspired by the African Orisha Shango while Unknown Soldier from Underground Resistance plays the drum.

Tiff Massey-Detroit Is Black Produced By Jeedo X

Tiff Massey is a Detroit artist who makes wearable sculptures and music. “Detroit Is Black” is her spoken-word piece about gentrification in Detroit and it’s produced by Jeedo X aka Waajeed. You can see her sculptures at her site and hopefully there will be a full-length album to follow the release of “Detroit Is Black.”
