August Greene made their NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert debut with a five-song set. Common, Karriem Riggins and Robert Glasper are the core members of the group but for the performance, they added members of their collective including DJ Dummy, Burniss Travis and Samora Pinderhughes. Common explains at the beginning how August Greene understands the current #MeToo movement and they wanted to show their support by putting women guests in the foreground. Brandy, Maimouna Youssef and Andra Day are the women Common described as foregrounding the band and they join August Greene for one of their first live events.
