Mocky feat. GZA – ‘Birds Of A Feather’ out on Crammed Discs
Watch the first ‘Mockumentary’ here (feat. contributions from Gonzales, Feist, Jamie Lidell & Taylor Savvy):
“Mocky has a reputation for surprising people with his music”, ran the first line of the biography for “Saskamodie”, Mocky’s sublime debut album for Crammed Discs … and sure enough, the man also responsible for producing and playing all over classic albums from Feist, Jamie Lidell and Gonzales is at it again: this time with one of the world’s greatest living rappers – GZA, no less, from the mighty Wu-Tang Clan – in tow.
For more than four decades the name Santana has been synonymous with groundbreaking musical approaches, and 25 year old keyboardist, vocalist, songwriter and bandleader Salvador Santana is well-versed in the familial traditions. 2009 welcomes Salvador to the spotlight in a major way with his second major studio effort/full length and first solo album due this fall on his very own VBE label. Salvador pushes the envelope by summoning underground legends to join his creative tour de force. His project will allow the world to hear musical icons such as Del The Funky Homosapien, Money Mark (Beastie Boys), GZA, plus other surprise guests, collaborating with Salvador for the first time.
