Prince’s Welcome 2 America album recorded back in 2010 will finally be released this summer. The music was recorded shortly before he went on his Welcome 2 America tour but he didn’t actually perform any of the songs from the album. This will be the third posthumous release from his estate since his passing in 2016. The lead single is just as critical of society as his 1985 single “America.” Back then he criticized the government and in 2010 he was talking about iPads and cheap intimacy. Prince’s sister Tyka gave an interview to Rolling Stone magazine about her brother’s legacy and her dedication to getting all his music to the fans. Welcome 2 America will be officially released July 30th and on Sunday, 60 Minutes will play the album and do a segment on it.
