Maimouna Youssef is returning to Harlem Stage this week for two shows. On Friday night she will dedicate the show to her Choctaw, African American and Muslim ancestry. Youssef, aka MuMu Fresh comes from a family of spiritual artists and activists. The music will come from her repertoire of traditional African and indigenous songs. Saturday night’s show will be an evening of hip-hop from her recently released album produced by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The PLAYlist called The Healing.
