Brooklyn-based guitarist, songwriter and producer Marcus Machado delivers his new single “I Can’t Lose” featuring Jermaine Holmes. His guitar carves out blues and soul to match the lyrics about struggle and then triumph. He is constantly compared to Jimi Hendrix and the influence is easily heard in his ability to make his instrument mimic human emotion. “I Can’t Lose” is leading up to the release of the Blue Diamonds film soundtrack in the fall that he scored. Machado released his debut EP in 2015 and is mostly known for playing with D’Angelo’s Vanguard band. Earlier this year, he was heard on the song “Goin’ Goin’ Gone” with Robert Glasper and Ro James from the Johnny Cash: Forever Words tribute album. This weekend he will perform at the Wimbash Music Festival in New Haven, CT.
