Throwback: DANGER DOOM-Sofa King

Danger Mouse and MF Doom collaborated on The Mouse And The Mask album in 2005. Doom’s humorous “Sofa King” rap about a heist landed on Danger Mouse’s funky violins pulled from Don Harper’s “Chamber Pop.” His sampling of music from Adult Swim TV shows gave the album a soundtrack type feeling. Talib Kweli, Ghostface Killah and Cee Lo Green were among the guest appearances on the 14 songs. As Danger Doom, the duo was able to compliment each other and create a new classic unlike any other rap album at the time. The critics and the fans were pleased with the record that was heavily promoted by Cartoon Network. Danger Mouse’s reputation as an inventive producer grew with The Mouse And The Mask and became one more reason he was considered one of the most important creators during the first 10 years of the 2000s. In 2017, he won a Grammy for work on Adele’s 25 and appeared on the song “Chase Me” with Run The Jewels and Big Boi from the film Baby Driver
