Yo! MTV Raps Has 30th Anniversary Concert

 Tonight Yo! MTV Raps had a 30th-anniversary concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. MTV announced plans to reboot the show earlier this year and the concert was a prelude to the show’s return. MC Lyte, Positive K, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Fat Joe, EPMD, Onyx, Brand Nubian, Eric B & Rakim, Yo-Yo, Special Ed, Pharcyde, DAS EFX, Black Sheep, Nice & Smooth, Kool Moe Dee, Doug E. Fresh and Kool G. Rap were there and transported the audience back to the ’80s and ’90s. 




Singer-Songwriter Appleby Celebrates Romance With New Single Lady Sunshine

Chicago singer-songwriter Appleby drops “Lady Sunshine” ahead of his forthcoming +Happiness EP. Appleby expresses contentment from being in love with his gentle vocals accompanied by meandering guitars. In 2015, Appleby became an underground artist to watch when he released the “Spit On Me” a pop and hip-hop influenced moment that left listeners feeling haunted and intrigued by Appleby’s debut. His seven-song EP +Happiness is his first since the Down Dance project from 2016. The new EP comes out July 20th on the Haight Brand imprint.
