Black Star Reunites For New Album Produced By Madlib

It’s been 20 years since Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli emerged as Black Star and they are coming full circle to reunite and release a new album this year. Yasiin Bey made the announcement in Denver, Colorado this past weekend during a Madlib DJ set.  Reddit uploaded the audio from the show and Bey can be heard telling the audience that the new project is “coming soon.”


Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics Debut New Single Call Out My Name

Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics are a vintage soul band from Atlanta. The group has been building its exposure touring as an opening act for Erykah Badu and Kendrick Lamar. The indie band already has a presence on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, iTunes and Spotify.”Call Out My Name” is their new Motown-inspired single and it leads the way for their second album State Of All Things. Their sophomore effort will arrive via PledgeMusic next month.
