George Clinton Shares New Parliament Song

 

George Clinton is bringing his Parliament group back with a new album and the first single is “I’m Gon Make You Sick Of Me” featuring Scarface. Parliment has not had an album since Trombipulation from 1980. Clinton had a question and answer session on Reddit this week and explained that after the Funkadelic’s 2014 First Ya Gotta Shake The Gate it was Parliament’s turn for new music.

Kendrick Lamar Will Perform At The 2018 Grammys

Kendrick Lamar has been added to the list of performers at the 2018 Grammys. The show will also have performances from Childish Gambino, Sza, Bruno Mars, Khalid and Cardi B.

Lamar has seven nominations including Album Of The Year. He is scheduled to open the show that will take place January 28th at Madison Square Garden in New York. It will air live on CBS at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Trumpet Awards Announces Performers And Honorees

 

The 2018 Bounce Trumpet Awards, the annual event celebrating African-American achievements and contributions, will air exclusively on Bounce on Sunday, February 11th at 9:00 PM ET.

Larenz Tate and Power series star and Erica Ashwho appears on Survivor’s Remorse and stars in the upcoming BET legal drama series In Contempt, will serve as this year’s hosts. The gala black-tie ceremony will be held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia on Sat. Jan. 20, 2018.

The 2018 honorees were announced today: Jermaine Dupri, Cameo, Richelieu Dennis, Tamika Mallory, Marley Dias, Dr. Lonnie Johnson and Rhyon Brown.

Doug E. Fresh, Keke Wyatt, Anthony Hamilton, Bow Wow, Sir the Baptist, Arrested Development, Estelle, Bilal, Big Daddy Kane,V. Bozeman, Donald Lawrence, Major, We’ McDonald, Mr. TalkBox, Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling, Rhyon Brown, Michel’le, Stokley Williams and Carl Thomas will perform at the event.

Cee-Lo Green, Omar Gooding and Angell Conwell will be among the presenters.
