Grieves’ “Faded” is about a lost relationship and the visual conveys the mixed feelings that happen after the ending of a relationship. The Rhymesayers Entertainment rapper just released his fifth studio album Running Wild. Grieves is going on the second leg of his U.S. tour this week and his European tour will kick off in February.

Liz Hogue’s 1989 “Dream Lover” single was written and produced by Chris Jasper and released on his Gold City Records via CBS. The Philadelphia vocalist had sung background for a variety of people during the ’80s including Grover Washington, Jean Carne, Kashif, Teddy Pendergrass and Club Noveau. Her uncle was the late Norman Harris who was a producer for Philadelphia International Records. Vicious & Fresh is her lone solo album and “Dream Lover” was popular on smooth jazz stations around the country. She was compared to singers Regina Belle, Anita Baker and Phyllis Hyman because of the strength and range of her voice. Hogue did not release any more solo music but she still performs around her Philadelphia hometown. In 2016, she gave a rare live performance of “Dream Lover” at Gerald Veasley’s Unscripted Jazz Series.
