Shabazz Palaces: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Shabazz Palaces stopped by the NPR offices in Washington, D.C. in between their tour dates to give a three-song set with bassist Otis Calvin. The duo has been on tour since the release of their double album, Quazarz: Born On A Gangsta Star and Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines came out this past summer. Their celestial sounds take off in the office like a magic carpet gliding from earth to space and back to earth again.

Tim Maiden Announces New Single So Far Gone

Tim Maiden is following up his single “The Other Side”, which was showcased as a Spotify Fresh Find pick, with “So Far Gone.”  The young R&B singer had been searching for his sound and explains the process behind “So Far Gone”:

“So Far Gone means exactly what it means. When I wrote this song I stopped suppressing some shit, sat down at the piano and for the first time in a long time let it out. In a lot of ways this song was the song that got me on track and helped me find myself as a artist; the beginning I guess. Not hiding is a beautiful thing. Being present with yourself and others is all you can do, otherwise what’s the point.
