Marquel Deljuan Shares Video For Bills From His Debut Album Don’t Listen

Marquel Deljuan just released his video for the working class struggle-inspired “Bills.” The song is from his debut album Don’t Listen and soundtrack to The System. Deljuan worked with his father Iroc Daniels on his album and music for the film. Jakob Owens directed the clip that follows Deljuan’s daily routine of working as a busboy. The Ebro-discovered artist titled his debut after his temperament as a teenager and had this to say about the album:

“It’s about appealing to those you wouldn’t normally appeal to, and to bridge gaps by giving people what they want and what they need at the same time. I will get people who don’t listen or won’t listen, to listen and then to do something for the better.”

Iroc Daniels wrote The System and it is a drama about corruption and inequalities in the judicial, political and prison systems. Watch the trailer for The System below:

Banks goes on a journey to find her true artistic voice and find success. Common, Lorraine Toussaint and Lucien Laviscourt also star in the film that will be in theaters and video on demand December 1st.
