Whitney: Can I Be Me Official Teaser

Nick Broomfield’s Whitney Houston documentary, Whitney: Can I Be Me is getting closer to its Showtime debut on August 25th. Broomfield’s piece promises to offer a different look at Houston’s that does not focus on the usual narrative about her life as a successful singer. The film maker has already commented on Houston’s perspective on life as a singer from New Jersey supporting so many people in her inner circle as compared to a man like Mick Jagger who only had himself to carry financially. Houston’s fans are very protective and her family had nothing to do with the film but Broomfield is immune to the criticism. The film will air weeks after what would have been Houston’s 54th birthday.
