Watch Pharrell Become A Video Game Character In Video For Yellow Light From The Despicable Me 3 Soundtrack

Pharrell’s “Happy” from 2013 helped Despicable Me 2 do well at the box office. “Yellow Light” is a new song from Pharrell on the Despicable Me 3 soundtrack. The video features Pharrell walking around town and then becoming a digital character in a dance battle with villain Balthazar Bratt. He scored most of the soundtrack that also has music from Madonna, Michael Jackson and a-ha. Despicable Me 3 will be in theaters June 30th and the soundtrack will be available June 23rd.


De La Soul: Drawn Feat. Little Dragon Official Video

De La Soul and Little Dragon give the spotlight to a woman painter in their video for “Drawn.” She spends the time sketching, bathing, dancing and looking over a painting of  Posdnuos who raps his verses from a seat in an empty theater. De La Soul’s Kickstarter-funded And The Anonymous Nobody… was nominated for Best Rap Album this year at The Grammy’s. The group is currently touring Europe and will kick off their United States tour in August.


Toro Y Moi Gives A Preview Of New Album With Single Girl Like You

Toro Y Moi’s “Girl Like You” is from his upcoming Boo Boo album coming out July 7th. He created his new album with the idea of space influenced by people like Daft Punk, Frank Ocean and Kashif. Fame is something he is still adjusting to and his thoughts about it also influenced Boo Boo.


Tricky Releases New Single The Only Way

Tricky has released “The Only Way” on his False Idols label and he admits that the song is a throwback to his Maxinquaye days. He recorded it last year in Moscow and had this to say about it:

“A few years ago I’d have said I ain’t doing this because it sounds like me. I always had a punk rock attitude: I don’t give a fuck if you like Maxinquaye, I ain’t doing another Maxinquaye. Now I’m a bit more comfortable giving people what they want sometimes.”

Last year Tricky debuted his Skilled Mechanics group project.
