Tupac Shakur’s Alternate Ending In Juice

It was 25 years ago when Tupac Shakur made his acting debut in the movie Juice. To celebrate the release of the film’s anniversary edition director Ernest R. Dickerson shared the alternate ending. The movie ends with Shakur’s character Bishop fighting with Q played by Omar Epps. After Epps knocks Shakur over the ledge he holds onto his hand to try to pull him back to safety. In the theater version, Shakur eventually loses his grip naturally but in the never seen version, he tells Epps he is not going to jail before he voluntarily lets go of his hand. Dickerson explained to Rolling Stone that Shakur wanted Bishop to not be seen as a “punk.” Shakur’s standout performance in Juice fed his legend as one of the most dynamic entertainers of his generation.

The 25th-anniversary edition of  Juice has new interviews with Khalil Kain, Omar Epps, Jermaine Hopkins and Dickerson.
