Karriem Riggins & J Rocc Open Up Their Amoeba Bags

Stones Throw labelmates J Rocc and Karriem Riggins share their musical picks from Amoeba Music in Los Angeles. The turntablist and drummer have jazz, African funk, broken beat and gospel records between them. Riggins’ Headnod Suite is out now and J Rocc’s most recent release is The Instrumentals Vol. One. They will appear at this year’s Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn.

Listen To Tall Black Guy’s Remix Of Miles Bonny’s The Way Feat. Shhor

Tall Black Guy has added his touch to the remix of Miles Bonny and Shhor’s “The Way.” Bonny is a singer, musician, DJ and social worker based in Mexico living off the grid with his partner the Australian songstress Shhor. TBG’s remix is on Bonny and Shhor’s The Way EP. Bonny can also be heard on TBG’s Let’s Take A Trip.

Emanuel Harrold Releases Debut Single Special Time Feat. Saunders Sermon II

Emanuel Harrold is a drummer who has worked with De La Soul, Roy Hargrove and Damon Albarn to name a few. He is currently touring with Gregory Porter and can be heard on Porter’s first three albums including the Grammy-winning Liquid Spirit. The St. Louis native has collaborated with vocalist and trombonist Saunders Sermon II of Tedeschi Trucks Band to release his debut solo single “Special Time.” Harrold’s lyrics are about longing for a time when romance and pure love mattered most. There is no word on a full-length album yet but “Special Time” is available and ready to be added to the playlists of summer.
