Incognito leader and founder Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick has a new project called Thames River Soul. The four-song EP is a reworking of classic soul songs with guest vocalists Omar, Vanessa Haynes, Kenny Thomas and Imaani. Bluey produced the EP and is releasing it on his Splash Blue imprint. Described as:
“A modern, broken beat take on jazz funk music rooted in the tradition of the great Herbie Hancock & the Headhunters and Weather Report. A spacey, cinematic soundscape inhabited by silky Fender Rhodes, shimmering analogue synthesizers, gritty fuzz wah clavinet and hypnotic tape delay” Thames River Soul Volume 1 is out now via iTunes.
