Producer Imperial Releases Instrumental Single Hiatus

Imperial usually shows up as one-half of Imperial and K.I.N.E.T.E.K. but the British producer just released a new instrumental called “Hiatus.” Imperial shares his feelings about the drowsy loop of soul when he says “For me, creating music allows me to enter a different head space and I find it energizing. Hiatus is just that; escapism. Taking time to enter a different zone, fully immersed in sound.”

DMX And Swizz Beatz Reunite On Bain Iz Back

Swizz Beatz and DMX reunite and bring Ruff Ryders into 2017 on “Bain Iz Back.” The longtime collaborators have almost finished a comeback album for DMX but are waiting on the final contributions from Kanye West and Dr. Dre.

Hezekiah Remixes Kindred The Family Soul’s Another One

Hezekiah of Johnny Popcorn connects with fellow Philly artists Kindred The Family Soul and remixes “Another One” from their Legacy Of Love album. Aja and Fatin filmed a video for the remix among the rubble of a ruined building. Hezekiah sampled Ghostface Killer’s “One” which added more grit to his version. Kindred The Family Soul is on the Nu Soul Revival tour with Lyfe Jennings, Avery Sunshine and Musiq Soulchild. The tour kicks off February 3rd in North Carolina and tickets are on sale now.

Gregory Porter In Concert At The Detroit Music Hall January 29th

Gregory Porter is having a concert at Detroit’s Music  Hall January 29th at 7:30PM with Eric Roberson as the opening act. Porter’s fourth studio album, Take Me To The Alley, was released last year and has a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. The singer, who has become quickly identified by his quirky headwear, is the only contemporary jazz singer to bring R&B and blues into the genre and have a level of popularity that even finds his voice in dance music with UK duo Disclosure. Tickets for the show at the Music Hall are on sale now.
