Dave East: 30 N***az Official Video

Dave East has almost become the sole poster child for the preservation for New York hip-hop along with Young M.A. He released his 10th mixtape, Kairi Chanel, last fall a day before signing a deal with Def Jam. The Harlem native joined Nas’ Mass Appeal label two years ago and it raised his profile favorably among rap fans and critics. East and his crew filmed a straightforward neighborhood video for “30 N***az” from the Kairi Chanel mixtape. He made his television debut this week playing himself on season four premiere episode of Being Mary Jane.

Syd: All About Me Official Video

Syd drops the first visual for her upcoming solo album, Fin with “All About Me.” Syd sings in a dark warehouse space as members from her Odd Future and Internet family make appearances. The Internet is on hiatus but Syd’s Fin solo album is coming out soon.

Sampha: (No One Knows Me) Like The Piano

Sampha shared “(No One Knows Me) Like The Piano” which is a song from his forthcoming Process album. Sampha professes his attachment to his chosen instrument with autobiographical lyrics about his journey discovering and expressing himself with the piano. Sampha will perform on The Tonight Show January 13th and Process will be released February 3rd.

Watch Idris Elba In John Ridley’s Guerrilla (Trailer)

Guerrilla is a six-part series about a couple in 1970’s London whose relationship progresses from being engrossed in political activism to becoming radical militants. Babou Cessay and Freida Pinto play the couple who become focused on freeing a political prisoner. They also become fixated on dismantling the real-life Black Power Desk, which is dedicated to destroying any kind Black political activism. Idris Elba co-stars in the series and is an executive producer. John Ridley wrote and directed the majority of the series which will debut on Showtime April 16th in the United States and April 13th in the UK.

Joshua Luke Smith Releases Video For New Single Heart Of Man

UK R&B/Pop singer Joshua Luke Smith releases the video for his single “Heart Of Man.” Smith wrote “Heart Of Man” to talk about 2016 in all its ups and downs. According to Smith, “My hope is this song helps to slow us down, to help us step into this year fully here, present and hearts full and ready to love.” All money earned from the song will be donated to the work of the Preemptive Love Coalition. Smith’s Your Beauty Deluxe Edition will come out at the end of the month and he is going on The Becoming Human Tour on January 21st in his home country.
