Jamie Foxx will executive produce a limited series about Marvin Gaye with Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Gaye’s family and Motown founder Berry Gordy have given the project their blessing. Marvin Gaye III is an executive producer on the project and says that,”This project will be a powerful and definitive telling of Marvin Gaye’s life story.” F. Gary Gray, Scott Rudin, James Gandolfini and Cameron Crowe all tried to bring Gaye’s life to the screen but none of them had the support of Gaye’s family. Foxx is a longtime fan of Gaye’s and is excited to be on board. Jones and de Passe will shop the series to digital and linear outlets.
